FIXING AN OUTDATED EDUCATION SYSTEM
Our children are the future of the Commonwealth—and this great country. The very least we can do is ensure they’re receiving an education that prepares them for prosperity in the workforce.
Sen. Ryan Aument recently introduced a bill to establish the Commission on Education and Economic Competitiveness, a bipartisan group that will work tirelessly on this issue. Through hearings, research, policy analysis, and even public comment, we can devise a plan to reform our school system.
Let’s get fully engaged and unified on this issue. Our children deserve our best effort.

RESTORING PARENTAL RIGHTS
Parents rightfully shield their children from inappropriate exposures at home, but there’s an alarming trend of sexually explicit material in school textbooks, and it’s happening right here in Pennsylvania.
That’s why Sen. Ryan Aument introduced legislation that empowers parents to remain engaged in what their students are being taught in the classroom. Let us be clear: This is not a book ban.
Senate Bill 7 would require schools to:
– Identify sexually explicit content in school curriculum, materials, and books. – Create an opt-in policy that notifies parents and gives them an opportunity to review the materials and give consent. – Provide non-explicit alternatives for children whose parents do not opt-in.
This is a commonsense solution to a growing problem. Together, we can restore what it means to be a parent with rights and responsibilities.
